Stay connected for news and updates

Sergio Garcia is the leader after the third round at the Barclays at Bethpage Black after shooting a 2-under par to improve his tournament total to 10-under, and leads Nick Watney by two strokes. Garcia was all over the course during his front nine on Saturday where he had three birdies and two bogies. He finally settled down on the back nine after bogeying the No. 10 hole, but Garcia then birdied two of the next three holes before shooting par over the final five holes

Former Colorado State Ram Martin Laird took a dive from the leaderboard after he shot a 6-over par, round of 77. Laird fell from being in the top 10 heading into Saturday's round and is now out of contention.

Laird had only four bad holes, but of those four he had a double-bogey on third hole, triple-bogey on the 11th hole and also had two other bogeys. Heading into Sunday Laird is tied for 53rd and 12 strokes off the lead at 2-over par for the tournament.
