With a strong showing on Friday thus far, former Colorado State golfer, Martin Laird, has surged up the leaderboard at the 2012 Barclays tournament, up 24 spots from his finish on Thursday, thanks to four birdies through 15 holes.

With birdies on two par-3s (holes three and eight) and birdies on two par-5 (holes four and 13), Laird is 3-under par on Friday, 4-under par overall and three strokes behind tournament leader Padraig Harrington, who will be teeing off for his Friday round later in the afternoon.
