The Barclays Leaderboard: Padraig Harrington On Top In First Round

Padraig Harrington sits alone atop The Barclays leaderboard after firing a 7-under-par 64 in Thursday's first round.

Harrington leads Gary Christian, who is currently through 13, and Nick Watney by a stroke. Pat Perez, who finished the day with a 66, trails by two. A host of others, including K.J. Choi, Sergio Garcia, and Dustin Johnson sit at 4-under-par in ongoing play.

Harrington, after bogeying the third, bounced back with birdies on holes four and seven before netting a string of birdies on holes 11 through 14. He parred 15 and notched back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 before wrapping up the round with a par on 18.

Phil Mickelson and Luke Donald are currently tied for 10th place overall at 3-under-par, and a quartet featuring Tiger Woods, Steve Stricker, Lee Westwood and Zach Johnson are a stroke behind at 2-under-par.

2012 PGA Championship winner Rory McIlroy is 1-under-par. Colorado State alumnus Martin Laird will tee off, beginning on the back nine, this afternoon.
