Colorado State graduate Martin Laird has had a disappointing run at major championships in 2012, but he has himself in place to finish in a solid position at the 2012 PGA Championship. Laird will enter Saturday's third round five shots back of the leaders, which is good for tied for 15th place. Laird finished Friday at 1-over, with Vijay Singh, Carl Pettersson and Tiger Woods ending their rounds at 4-under.

At a blustery second round on Friday, only four golfers shot under par, with a host of scores for the day skying above 3-over. In that context, Laird's 74 (2-over) was a rather solid round.
