Colorado State Fall Camp: 3 Players Battling It Out For Starting Kicking Spot

Stay connected for news and updates

The kicking position is not the sexiest spot on the football team, but at times it can be the most important one, especially when the game is on the line. The Colorado St. Rams are currently in a three-way battle to find out who their starting kicker will be.

The three vying for the job are freshman Keenan Adams, sophomore Jared Roberts and walk-on Hayden Hunt. Head coach Jim McElwain said that he may have different kickers for different scenarios:

"Looks like we're going to have a battle. We're going to match to their strengths. We might end up having a short and long field goal guy. The good thing is we have some choices."

Back in spring camp Roberts played well and Adams is finally recovered from a knee injury. None of the three players has seen time in an actual college football game.
