2012 Tour de France Results: Andre Greipel Wins 2nd Straight Stage

Stay connected for news and updates

Andre Greipel legged out a second straight victory in the Tour de France 2012 with a Stage 5 win on Thursday. With the breakaway of four riders 100 meters away from the finish line, Greipel and Matthew Goss were able to catch up with that group and burst out in front. Goss was the first to move ahead of the original breakaway, but Greipel powered through and pulled out the victory.

In the final kilometers of the stage, Garmin-Sharp's Tyler Farrar started a crash that took out several riders, delaying part of the peloton by just a bit.

Here are the top 10 finishers for the day:

1. Andre Greipel, 4:41:30
2. Matthew Goss, s.t.
3. Juan Jose Haedo, s.t.
