She just made it in, but Denver's Missy Franklin will compete in the finals of the 200 meter freestyle event. She finished her heat in fourth place with a time of 1:57.57, putting her into the finals as the eighth and final competitor. Federica Pellegrini won the heat with a time of 1:56.67.
In the first heat of the semifinals, Australia's Bronte Barratt won the swim with a finishing time of 1:56.08, just ahead of U.S. swimmer Allison Schmitt (1:56:15). France's Camille Muffat was just behind Schmitt at 1:56:18.
The 200 meter freestyle final will take place on Tuesday, July 31, at approximately 12:41 p.m. MT.
