Colorado Springs' Dennis Bowsher is making his Olympics debut in 2012.

Dennis Bowsher, who is a resident of Colorado Springs, is one of several athletes with connections to the state of Colorado that will be participating in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Bowsher will be competing in the modern pentathlon.

The modern pentathlon includes the following five events: pistol shooting, épée fencing, 200 meter freestyle swimming, show jumping and a 3 kilometer cross-country run

Here's a glance at what Bowsher has accomplished so far in 2012:

Bowsher finished 25th and 19th in his qualification groups and did not advance to the finals of the first two World Cup events of 2012, March 9-10 in Charlotte, N.C., and March 16-17 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Sam Sacksen was the only American to reach a final, finishing 29th in Charlotte.
