The 2012 U.S. Open tee times and pairings have been announced for the first two rounds. The tournament takes place June 14-17.
The 2012 U.S. Open is still one week away, but the tee times and pairings have already been announced for the event, which takes place at the Lake Course of the Olympic Club in San Francisco, Ca. Rory McIlroy is out to defend his 2011 title, but no golfer has won back-to-back U.S. Open titles since Curtis Strange won his second and third ones in 1988 and 1989.
Colorado St. alum Martin Laird will be one of McIlroy's challengers. Laird failed to make the cut in 2011, finishing at 5-over after two rounds. Laird is also looking to improve on his previous major championship outing, an 11-over in four rounds at the 2012 Masters Tournament.
Other local golfers include Jesse Mueller, born in Colorado, and Shane Bertsch, who resides in Parker, Co.
