Stay connected for news and updates

Arizona Wildcats sophomore right-hander Konner Wade must certainly be the leading contender for the Most Outstanding Player in the 2012 College World Series after his latest performance. He threw a complete game and allowed just one run in a 5-1 victory against the South Carolina Gamecocks. He has allowed just one run in 18 innings while pitching in Omaha.

Robert Refsnyder hit a two-run home run in the first inning and Alex Mejia drove in a run on a third-inning single to chase South Carolina starter Forrest Koumas from the game. Seth Mejias-Brean and Bobby Brown added an RBI each with singles in the fifth and seventh innings, respectively.

South Carolina will need a win on Monday to force a decisive Game 3 on Tuesday; otherwise, the Wildcats will celebrate their first College World Series title since 1986. Monday's game takes place at 6:00 p.m. MT and will be seen on ESPN.
