The 2012 College World Series continues on Wednesday night with a contest of wills between the Kent St. Golden Flashes and the South Carolina Gamecocks. Both teams are on the brink of elimination, having lost an earlier game, but all the pressure is on South Carolina to win this game.
South Carolina saw a 22-game postseason and 12-game Omaha winning streak come to an end on Monday night with a 2-1 loss to Arkansas. They are also the two-time defending College World Series victors. Kent. St., on the other hand, is a No. 3 regional seed coming off a survival-game victory against the No. 1 national seed Florida Gators, 5-4.
This game will feature a pitching matchup between Kent St.'s RHP Tyler Skulina (11-2, 3.63 ERA) and South Carolina's LHP Jordan Montgomery (5-1, 4.05 ERA). Kent St. will be without Jason Bagoly, who went back home to attend his mother's funeral.
Game time/date: 6:00 p.m. MT, Wednesday, June 20, 2012
Location: TD Ameritrade Park, Omaha, Neb.
