The French Open carries on at Roland Garros, with several top players surviving Saturday's third round action. Maria Sharapova and Rafael Nadal, the respective No. 2 seeds, highlighted the day's action by advancing without much trouble.
Sharapova continued her string of domination, over-powering Shuai Peng 6-2, 6-1. No. 4 Petra Kvitova, the second highest seeded player in action on Saturday, also survived, topping Nina Bratchikova 6-2, 4-6, 6-1. The women's bracket featured on upset, with No. 9 Caroline Wozniacki falling to Kaia Kanepi 1-6, 7-6, 3-6.
Nadal topped Eduardo Schwank 6-1, 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday. Fourth-seeded Brit Andy Murray also scored a big win with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Santiago Giraldo. Eighth seeded Janko Tipsarevic downed Julien Benneteau 6-3, 7-5, 6-4.
