The Arizona Wildcats and the UCLA Bruins have a Pac-12 showdown in Game 6 of the College World Series on Sunday night. The winner of this game will be off until Thursday when they resume play and have a chance at advancing to the championship series.
Arizona turns to sophomore RHP Konner Wade (9-3, 4.43 ERA) after Kurt Heyer did a solid job for the Wildcats in a performance against Florida St. The Wildcats won that game in 12 innings, however. They'd certainly want to get back to the strong offense they had in the regional round where they averaged nearly 16 runs per game.
Nick Vander Tuig (10-3, 4.35 ERA) is looking to follow up Adam Plutko's start (7 IP, 7 K, 1 ER) with a similar start of his own. UCLA put down Stony Brook in the College World Series opener, 9-1. Right fielder Jeff Gelalich, shortstop Pat Valaika and second baseman Kevin Williams each drove in two runs.
Game time/date: 7:00 p.m. MT, Sunday, June 17, 2012
Location: TD Ameritrade Park, Omaha, Neb.
Broadcast: ESPN2/WatchESPN
