Martin Laird is just a few holes from finishing Round 2 at the Players Championship and he could be alone at the top of the leaderboard when that happens. Currently, Laird is 9-under and on the 17th hole. Zach Johnson is just one stroke behind him at 8-under and about to finish up the 16th hole.
After shooting 2-under on the front nine, Laird is at even-par for the back nine. He opened things up with a bogey on Hole No. 10 but quickly erased that with a birdie on No. 11. He moved to 10-under following a birdie on the par-3 15th hole, but he gave it back on the par-5 16th with six strokes.
Johnson is at 6-under for the round, making four birdies during his time on the back nine right now.
