It's getting near cut time for the 2012 Masters Tournament, but only one of two locally-connected Colorado golfers will make it to Rounds 3 and 4. With Jason Dufner and Fred Couples tied for the lead at 5-under, the cut line looks to be at 5-over (10 strokes back from the leaders is the usual way to determine which golfers will be eliminated).
This is good news for Martin Laird, a former Colorado State Ram, who is currently at 4-over through two rounds. He shot 4-over for Round 1 and even-par 72 for Round 2.
But for Denver resident Craig Stadler, he will not be making it to the weekend. The 1982 Masters winner shot a 19-over for two rounds, placing him second to last at August National. Only Sandy Lyle shot worse, finishing at 20-over for the tournament.
