NCAA Women's Tournament 2012, Connecticut Vs. Notre Dame: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

The battle between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Connecticut Huskies for Big East supremacy was one of the most compelling storylines in women's basketball this year, and the final act will be played out today in the opening game of the Women's Final Four. The Irish swept the regular season series vs. the Huskies— which is something that very few teams in any given year can say— but UConn claimed a 63-54 victory in the Big East Title game on March 6.

The Irish go as go Skylar Diggins and Natalie Novosel, and that was truer against the Huskies than any opponent this season. In Notre Dame's two victories over UConn, Diggins and Novosel each averaged 21 points per game, but in their loss in the Big East Tournament, the two only scored a combined 24 points. The game may also hinge on the rebounding battle, as the Huskies dominated the Irish on the glass in their last meeting after Notre Dame had won the rebounding battle by 11 in their final regular season meeting.

Game date/time: Sunday, April 1, 4:30 p.m. MT

Location: Pepsi Center, Denver, Colo.

TV: ESPN
