The schedule is in place for the Final Four of this year's NCAA Women's Tournament, and it's going to be a battle of No. 1 seeds at the Pepsi Center in Denver. In a tournament where the great teams have essentially avoided any upsets at all whatsoever, every single regional final saw the No. 1 beat the region's No. 2 seed.
What that means is that fans journeying to the Pepsi Center for Sunday's games should be treated to match-ups between the absolute best teams in the entire country, all of which also happen to be playing some very solid basketball these days.
Things start off on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. EST when the Connecticut Huskies take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a battle of Big East stalwarts. Notre Dame went 15-1 against conference opponents during the regular season, with its only loss coming to UConn, 63-54, in the Big East Conference Title Game.
Following that game, the Stanford Cardinal will face off against the Baylor Bears in a match-up of teams that combined to lose just one game all season. Baylor is hoping to finish off a dominant season without losing a single game, while Stanford has won 32 straight games since losing to UConn on Nov. 21.
