Both teams had quality chances in the second period, but goaltenders Jean-sebastien Giguere and Martin Brodeur have been too tough to beat. The Devils had a slim 12-11 advantage in shots on goal in the second period, though the Colorado Avalanche still have the overall edge at 19-17.

There have only been two power play situations in the game thus far -- one for each team -- and the Devils have a 16-13 edge in the faceoff circle.
