Denver Vs. Florida Atlantic Final Score: Pioneers Rally But Lose, 72-71

Stay connected for news and updates

Denver's shooters did warm up in the second half of Thursday night's game against Florida Atlantic, and the Pioneers rallied all the way back from a 40-25 halftime deficit. When forward Chris Udofia scored a basket and hit a free throw to give Denver a 71-67 lead with less than 15 seconds remaining, it looked as though the Pioneers would escape with the win.

Instead, it was only the buildup to a heartbreaking loss, as FAU hit a quick three, Denver's Brian Stafford missed two free throws, and then committed a foul with hardly any time left in regulation. The Owls hit both free throws to claim the 72-71 victory.

Chris Udofia had another big game for Denver, scoring 20 points on 8-11 shooting. Stafford scored 18.
