Northern Colorado Bears (7-16, 4-8) take on the Montana State Bobcats (11-12, 6-6) on Saturday in Big Sky conference play.
The Northern Colorado Bears and Montana State Bobcats have both struggled in big sky conference play this season, but one team will get back on track on Saturday afternoon. Northern Colorado has lost three straight games, including a 75-68 loss to the Montana Grizzlies on Thursday, while Montana State has dropped four straight contests and is now under .500 on the season.
The Bears lost the first head-to-head matchup this season at Max Worthington Arena by a score of 84-72, as the Bobcats hit 44.8 percent of their threes (13 of 29), highlighted by four triples from Michael Dison. He had a game-high 17 points in the January win, while Tre Johnson scored 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds. As for the Bears, they shot 52 percent from the field and got 14 points and eight rebounds from Mike Proctor in the loss.
The Bears only have one player averaging over 10 points per game (Tate Unruh at 10.4), but their offense still ranks 28th in the nation in field goal percentage at 47.7 percent. Montana State also likes to spread the socring load on offense, as leading scorers Xavier Blount and Christian Moon only average 11.8 and 11.1 points, respectively. .
