The Nuggets' three-game win streak came to an end Thursday night, but their recent stretch of victories has them in the eighth spot in the Western Conference.

Denver's balanced scoring attack, which includes six players averaging between 10.9 and 15.7 points, led the way in their win streak. They averaged 111 points per victory but scored only 93 points as they fell Thursday night to the Portland Trail Blazers.

At 14-13, Denver sits 7.5 games behind the conference leading Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder lost their most recent contest but rattled off a string of 12 consecutive victories prior to that defeat to put their record at 21-5. In second place is the Los Angeles Clippers, who are currently in possession of a 12-game win streak of their own. The Clippers are 20-6 this season.

The Nuggets look to climb up the standings this weekend as they face the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday night before traveling to face the Clippers on Christmas Day.
