San Diego State vs. Boise State score update: Aztecs take the lead, 14-13, in 3rd quarter

The Boise State Broncos trail the San Diego Aztecs, 14-13, after three quarters on Saturday night thanks to an offense that stalled to start the second half and special teams mistakes.

The Broncos carried a 13-7 lead into halftime after the Aztecs took an early 7-0 lead with an opening-kickoff touchdown return, thanks to a pair of D.J. Harper touchdowns. The Boise State offense would struggle coming back out of the locker room, however, starting with quarterback Joe Southwick's interception throw on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter.

A three-and-out for Boise State on their next possession would end in disaster, as the ensuing punt from deep within Broncos territory was blocked. The Aztecs would take advantage of the short field two plays later, with Adam Muema's 3-yard touchdown run giving San Diego State a 14-13 lead.

The Broncos would gain just 31 yards of offense in the third quarter and are 2-of-9 on third down in the game.
