2012 NCAA Division II Football Tournament: CSU-Pueblo earns 1st round bye

The CSU-Pueblo Thunderwolves have earned a first-round bye in the Division II football playoffs.

The 24 teams that will make up the 2012 Division II Football Tournament have been decided, with the NCAA announcing the match-ups on Sunday.

Eight teams with top records earned first-round byes in the tournament and will get to skip the first games on Nov. 17, including the RMAC champion CSU-Pueblo Thunderwolves. They and the other top-seeded teams will face off against one of the first-round winners on Nov. 24.

Here are the first round pairings for the tournament, playing their games on Nov. 17:

Bloomsburg (10-1) at Shippensburg (10-1)
Shepherd (8-2) at Indiana (Pa.) (10-1)
Midwestern State (9-1) at Indianapolis (9-2)
West Texas A&M (9-2) at Chadron State (9-2)
Miles (8-2) at West Alabama (8-3)
Fort Valley State (8-3) at Lenior-Rhyne (8-2)
Harding (9-1) at Northwest Missouri State (9-2)
Minnesota-Duluth (10-1) at Missouri Western State (10-1)

Here are the first-round bye teams in the super regionals, and their seeds:

No. 1 Valdosta State (8-2)
