Air Force could be without starting running Cody Getz, who is banged up with an ankle injury.
The Air Force Falcons could be without their best weapon this Friday night in a key Mountain West matchup when they face the Nevada Wolf Pack. Both teams are at 3-1, and the winner will stay in the hunt for the league title, but the Falcons could be without starting running back Cody Getz. Getz has been hampered the past few weeks with a sprained ankle, and head coach Troy Calhoun says that he is questionable against Nevada.
Getz originally injured his ankle against Wyoming, and was limited to just 10 carries for 41 yards in that game. The following week against New Mexico, Getz injured the ankle again on the first play of scrimmage, and did not return. Prior to getting hurt, Getz was leading the nation in rushing, and he had rushed for over 100 yards in his first five games, including three games where he rushed for over 200 yards.
If Getz does not play on Saturday, he will be replaced by sophomore Jon Lee. Lee has rushed for 237 yards so far this season, but he is averaging nearly five yards per carry. Calhoun has been talking up Lee of late, and some feel that he could crack 100 yards against the Nevada defense.
