The fifth game of the preseason for the Nuggets ends in a loss.
Danilo Gallinari had a game high 26 points for the Denver Nuggets Sunday night as they took on the defending Western Conference-champion Oklahoma City Thunder, but it wasn't enough as the Thunder pulled out a 108-101 victory in their fifth NBA preseason game.
The Thunder got a balanced effort from its full cast as Serge Ibaka, James Harden, and Kevin Durant each had 16 points to lead the host Thunder. The teams were tied 81-81 going into the fourth quarter, but Oklahoma City used a 7-0 run midway through the quarter to pull ahead for good.
Corey Brewer had 15 points off the bench for the Nuggets, who are now 2-3 on the preseason. He was one of five Denver players in double figures. Ty Lawson also had 17 points, Kenneth Faried 12, and JaVale McGee added 10. Lawson also was key as a distributor for the Nuggets with 11 assists.
