Colorado College vs. Air Force: Tigers down Falcons, 6-2

J. Meric

Colorado College took down Air Force in non-conference hockey action on Friday night.

The Colorado College Tigers dominated the Air Force Falcons with a 6-2 road victory on Friday night. The win moves the Tigers to 3-0 in conference play. The Falcons are still looking for their first win of the year, but this was their first loss as Air Force is now 0-1-2.

Andrew Hamburg of Colorado College picked up a hat trick in the second period, scoring three goals in the first 14 minutes after the first intermission.

The game was still close at the second intermission, thanks to Air Force's John Kruse netting a power play goal with help from Tony Thomas and Alex Holloran. That pulled the Falcons to within 3-2, but it was all Colorado College from there.

Scott Winkler added two goals for the Tigers in the third, while Hamburg went for his fourth goal of the night. Air Force had no answer for the scoring duo, and Colorado College ran away with the contest between the two crosstown rivals.
