Running back and kick returner Trindon Holliday was claimed off waivers by the Denver Broncos Friday, according to his agent Ian Greengross.
Not that Holliday was lighting it up. Used primarily on kick and punt returns, the Texans rank last in the NFL at 17.6 yards per kick return, and 16th in punt returns at 9.2.
Texans coach Gary Kubiak said the team wasn't sending a message in regards to Holliday with the roster move, but rather, "having to make a difficult decision" in wake of an injury to a key player.
Denver travels to San Diego for an AFC West showdown with the Chargers in Week 6 on Monday night.
