Super Bowl XLVI: Nate Solder Brings A Bit Of Colorado To 2012 Edition Of Big Game

Denver Broncos fans are obviously disappointed that the team won't be in the Super Bowl for yet another year since winning it all during the 1997 and 1998 seasons. But there will be a small bit of Colorado in Super Bowl XLVI. Rookie right tackle Nate Solder will be in the game.

Solder, a Buena Vista, CO, native and a product of the Colorado Buffaloes, was drafted by the New England Patriots with the 17th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He's started 13 regular season games and both playoff games. However, his playing time has been seen at both tackle and as the big, blocking tight end.

Injuries to Sebastien Vollmer have thrust Solder into the starting right tackle position, but it appears that Vollmer might be able to play in the game. Even if that happens, Solder will surely see playing time at right tackle at times during the game.
