The latest Baseball America Top 25 poll is out and Kevin Gausman's LSU Tigers climbed back up the rankings to No. 12 following its three-game sweep of the then No. 3 Arkansas Razorbacks (who fell to No. 13). Gausman, a Colorado native, allowed five runs over 6.2 innings, but he struck out a career-high 12 batters in Friday's 10-6 victory. Former Colorado Rockies draftee Ryan Eades led the Tigers to victory on Saturday with one run allowed in 7.1 innings while striking out 10.
The Florida Gators remain the No. 1 team in the nation even after a 2-2 weekend, but the Stanford Cardinal went 1-4 last week, dropping from No. 2 to No. 6. The No. 2 Florida St. Seminoles, like Florida, stand at 24-4 entering April. Unsigned 2011 16th round Colorado Rockies draft pick Preston Tucker committed a throwing error in the ninth inning of Sunday's game, allowing the winning run to score.
Texas A&M stayed at No. 7 in the poll, but Rockies' unsigned ninth round draft pick Ross Stripling took his first loss on Saturday. He dropped the middle game of the series, 4-3, after allowing four runs over 7.2 innings.

The latest Baseball America college baseball top 25 poll has come out and Kevin Gausman's LSU Tigers have fallen four spots to No. 15 this week. The Tigers traveled to face Auburn and dropped two of three in the series, winning only the last game on Sunday. Gausman, a Colorado native, took a no-decision in Friday's 4-3 loss. He allowed two runs in five innings while striking out eight and walking five. Auburn won the first two games, 4-3 and 3-2 (10), before falling on Sunday, 4-3.

Remaining at No. 1 are the Florida Gators, a team that features 2011 16th round Colorado Rockies draft pick Preston Tucker. The Gators took two of three from the South Carolina Gamecocks, a team that fell three spots to No. 11. Tucker, who will re-enter the MLB Draft as a senior this June is hitting .333/.402/.688 with eight home runs and 23 RBI.
Moving up three spots to No. 7 are the Texas A&M Aggies. They swept a three-game road series against Pepperdine. On Saturday, Ross Stripling threw a complete game after allowing two runs on eight hits and striking out nine. Stripling, the Rockies' unsigned ninth round pick in 2011, is now 4-0 in six starts with a 2.56 ERA in 45.2 innings. He has struck out 47 and walked eight.
And coming in at No. 12, Miami remained in the same position as last week. The Hurricanes took two of three from Maryland over the weekend with the help of catcher Peter O'Brien, the Rockies' unsigned third round pick in 2011. He leads the Miami offense with a .388/.486/.776 batting line and eight home runs and 28 RBI.

The latest Baseball America Top 25 poll results are out and Kevin Gausman's LSU Tigers have moved up two more spots to No. 11. Gausman, a Denver native, struck out 11 in 8.2 innings for a no-decision against the Mississippi St. Bulldogs on Friday night. He was outdone by Bulldogs starter Chris Stratton, who struck out 17 batters in 8.2 innings. The Tigers won the game in 10 innings by scoring two runs, the game-winner on a walkoff RBI single. The Tigers took two of three from the Bulldogs.
The Rockies's 2011 draft picks who returned to college are also having a strong run of things. Preston Tucker continues to play for the No. 1 Florida Gators, having gone 4-for-11 with six RBI and four runs scored. He hit two more home runs to reach eight on the season. He was the Rockies' unsigned 16th round draft pick in 2011.
The Texas A&M Aggies remained at No. 10 this week and had a rebound start from Ross Stripling, the Rockies' 2011 ninth round selection. He picked up his third win following nine innings of two-run ball, striking out eight. His season ERA is at 2.70.
At No. 12, the Miami Hurricanes moved up two spots from last week. Rockies unsigned third round pick Peter O'Brien is the starting catcher for that team as a senior. He is hitting .389/.483/.792 with eight doubles, seven home runs and 25 RBI in 20 games.

The latest Baseball America Top 25 Poll has seen several substantial changes this week, but not at the very top of it. The Florida Gators, home to former 2011 Colorado Rockies draft pick Preston Tucker, remain the No. 1 team in the nation with a 15-1 record, going 5-0 last week. The Stanford Cardinal is still the No. 2 team after dropping only one game to the now No. 8 Rice Owls over the weekend. Defending College World Series champion South Carolina and Arkansas complete the unchanged top four.
The Texas A&M Aggies fell from No. 6 to No. 10 after losing two games to the Cal State Fullerton Titans over the weekend. Ross Stripling, Rockies' ninth rounder in 2011 and senior returnee, allowed five runs (four earned) in a no-decision. He struck out seven, surrendered six hits, hit two batters and committed a balk.
The LSU Tigers are stuck at No. 13 following a 3-1 week, the only loss coming against Notre Dame. Denver native Kevin Gausman, though, threw a gem of eight shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out 11. He is 4-0 with a 1.32 ERA and 31 strikeouts to two walks.
Right behind the Tigers are the No. 14 Miami Hurricanes, home to the Rockies' 2011 third-round selection Peter O'Brien. He was 2-for-10 with a two RBI and a double over the weekend.

The LSU Tigers moved up one spot to No. 13 in the latest Baseball America Top 25 poll. The Tigers didn't let their series loss to the Appalachian St. Mountaineers drag them down during this past week when they played five games. The Tigers wound up winning all five contests, though that was expected against Grambling State, McNeese State and a three-game series against the Dartmouth Big Green. Kevin Gausman struck out six and allowed four runs in 6.1 innings against Dartmouth.
The Florida Gators remain the No. 1 team in the country after sweeping the Miami Hurricanes in a three-game weekend series. Miami dropped three spots to No. 15. Florida's Preston Tucker and Miami's Peter O'Brien didn't have great series, but O'Brien did hit his fourth home run of the season. Both elected to return to college after the Colorado Rockies rafted them in 2011.
Ross Stripling, another 2011 Rockies draftee, threw eight shutout innings and struck out five for the No. 6 Texas A&M Aggies over the weekend.

The LSU Tigers dropped out of the top 10 from No. 7 to No. 14 in the latest Baseball America Top 25 poll. After Kevin Gausman pitched LSU to a 4-0 victory on Friday, the Tigers dropped the next two games to Appalachian State, 1-0 and 11-1. The Arizona Wildcats moved up one spot to occupy LSU's previous spot.
Preston Tucker's Florida Gators maintained the No. 1 spot, but Stanford is making a very convincing case to be the top team in the nation. The Cardinals swept the Texas Longhorns in a three-game series, improving to 7-0 on the season. Texas fell to No. 21.
The Vanderbilt Commodores were swept by the Oregon Ducks, an unranked team at the time. Oregon is now No. 18 while the Commodores went from No. 17 to unranked. Cal State Fullerton was the only other team to enter the top 25. The Titans dropped out last week, but two victories over now No. 22 TCU has them at No. 20.

The first weekend of the 2012 college baseball season is in the books and we're already seeing movement in the top 10 of Baseball America's Top 25 poll. The LSU Tigers started the season as the No. 8 team and moved up one spot to No. 7 after defeating the Air Force Falcons (10-2, 4-0) and the Alcorn St. Braves (19-0) during the 2012 LSU Tournament. Denver native Kevin Gausman struck out seven and allowed one run over six innings during the 10-2 victory over the Falcons.
The Florida Gators remained at No. 1 following two of three victories over the Cal State Fullerton Titans. The Titans dropped out of the top 25 and were replaced by the Baylor Bears. The Arizona Wildcats, who play home games at Hi Corbett Field, former spring training home for the Colorado Rockies, took two of three from North Dakota State, but that one loss was an 8-2 home decision.
The No. 2 Stanford Cardinal swept the Vanderbilt Commodores, who fell from No. 10 to No. 17. The UCLA Bruins lost twice to Maryland (2-1, 5-1) and fell from No. 14 to No. 22.
