Alec Burks Making The Most Of Increased Playing Time For Utah Jazz

Alec Burks, the former University of Colorado star, and current rookie combo guard for the Utah Jazz, is getting an increase in minutes for the surging Jazz, and is making the most of his first real opportunity. Utah has been playing lights out basketball of late, winning eight of their last nine games, and Alec Burks had made some contributions along the way. Although he is only averaging 6.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game so far this season, Burks is now scored in double digits in the last two games he has played.

On Sunday night against the Denver Nuggets, Burks scored 10 points on 4-7 shooting in 18 minutes. Then on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, the rookie played 19 minutes and scored 11 points while grabbing 6 rebounds. Both games were wins for the Jazz, so if Burks can keep up his production he may earn an even bigger spot in the rotation moving forward. His ability to attack the rim and create driving lanes can only be considered an asset at this point, to it will be interesting to see how Ty Corbin elects to use Burks over the next few weeks.
