Predators Vs. Avalanche Score Update: Colorado Trails 3-0 After One Period

The Colorado Avalanche are trailing 3-0 after one period against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night. It's been a dominant performance by Nashville, as the Predators have extended a nice early lead on the road. It's a brutal start for an Avalanche club that's hoping to bounce back from being shutout recently by St. Louis.

Nashville had the shot advantage in the first period, and really took advantage of it. Nick Spaling scored the first goal of the game for the Predators, and the sixth of his season, just a few minutes into the game. Ryan Ellis quickly followed that up just a few minutes later with his second goal of the season to extend the lead. And finally came Martin Erat, scoring his ninth goal of the season to put the cap on a stunning run.

It's not the kind of beginning that Colorado was looking for, but it may find some hope in the fact that it has won nine of its past ten home games.
