2011 Rockies Draft Pick Trevor Story Receives Post Season Accolades

Despite a completely forgettable season by the Colorado Rockies, there are reasons for hope down in the minor league system. First round supplemental pick Trevor Story, a shortstop drafted out of high school, has been named the Top prospect in the Pioneer League this season by Baseball America.

Story hit .268 with six homeruns in his first season of professional ball, and spent some time playing third base as well -- not bad for a player drafted for his excellent glove.

Three other prospects made the Baseball America's Top 20, with middle infielder Rosell Herrera - making his stateside debut after playing in the Dominican Summer League -- ranking at fifth on the list. The switch-hitting infielder hit .284 with six homeruns for the Casper Ghosts.

Catcher Will Swanner had his season cut short due to injury, but was ranked at ninth overall, with pitcher Danny Winkler making the list at 18th overall.
