The Kansas City Chiefs are the first AFC West team to pick up a loss this season. They were completely outclassed by the Buffalo Bills in a 41-7 defeat on Sunday afternoon. Buffalo quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was the offensive star of the game, throwing four touchdown passes.
Fitzpatrick fired off back-to-back touchdown passes in the first quarter and threw two more in the third quarter. Rian Lindell added six points on two field goals in the second quarter. C.J. Spiller's nine-yard touchdown run was set up when Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel threw an interception into the waiting hands of Brandon Flowers.
The Chiefs started the game on the wrong foot when the opening kickoff was lost by Dexter McCluster and then recovered by the Bills. They put their only points on the board when Matt Cassel found Jamaal Charles in the end zone for a six-yard touchdown pass.
The Chiefs (0-1) visit the Detroit Lions next week. The Bills (1-0) host the Oakland Raiders.
