The Kansas City Chiefs are currently the only AFC West team in action and they are losing to the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium, 20-7. The Bills wasted no time in the game when they recovered a fumble by kick returner Dexter McCluster. Kelvin Sheppard returned the ball to Buffalo's 26-yard line. After a couple of Fred Jackson runs, the team was inside the 10-yard line, eventually scoring on a Ryan Fitzpatrick four-yard pass to tight end Scott Chandler.

Fitzpatrick found Steve Johnson in the end zone for a 27-yard touchdown before the final minute of the quarter. Rian Lindell added field goals of 29- and 38-yards to increase the lead to 20-0 in the second quarter.

After the two-minute mark, Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles caught a six-yard touchdown pass from Matt Cassel. The Chiefs entered halftime with points on the board. Cassel has thrown 87 yards on 11-of-17 passing, but is averaging just 5.1 yards per attempt.
