In a surprising development, offensive tackle Ryan Harris decided not to re-sign the Denver Broncos. Rather, Harris will join the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Josina Anderson and other reports. The Eagles have been on a run of signing free agents, picking up Nnamdi Asomugha and most recently running back Ronnie Brown.
Reports on Tuesday morning pegged Harris' return to the Broncos as a mere formality since he was visiting the team. Marcus Thomas, in a similar situation to Harris, re-signed with the Broncos after he visited camp over the weekend.
But the allure of the Eagles appears to be too much, as they are stacking talent for a run at the Super Bowl. Right now they are surely the prohibitive favorite to hoist the Lombardi Trophy in February.
On his Twitter account, Harris thanked all of his fans in Denver for their support.
