Ubaldo Jimenez Trade Sends Rockies Pitcher To Cleveland Indians, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

After weeks of speculation, the Colorado Rockies did indeed trade 27-year-old pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez, according to multiple reports. He was sent to the Cleveland Indians for these reported three prospects: RHP Drew Pomeranz, LHP Alex White and 1B/OF Matt McBride.

UPDATE: Jimenez is starting and the deal is on hold.

White was the Indians' No. 2 prospect according to Baseball America before the start of the season. Drafted out of North Carolina in 2009, White works with a low- to mid-90s fastball that reached 95 mph. His splitter is a plus pitch and his slider has developed over the last two seasons.

Pomeranz was drafted in the first round of 2010 and reached No. 4 on the Indians' Baseball America prospect list. He throws a fastball that reaches 96 and has a 12-to-6 knuckle curveball. His changeup is still progressing.

Matt McBride hit .297 with the Double-A team this year with 14 homers but has struggles since a promotion to Triple-A.
