NFL Lockout: Why Did The Oakland Raiders Abstain From Voting?

So, the NFL owners voted 31-0 in favor of their agreement proposal to end the lockout. The one team that abstained was, of course, the Al Davis-owned Oakland Raiders. Why? Here's what Raiders CEO Amy Trask said in response (via Albert Breer):

"We had profound philosophical differences of a football and an economic nature."

And this is not at all surprising given how the Raiders are operated. Trask said abstaining was the "appropriate" way to deal with this matter.

↵

Whether the Raiders abstained or voted "nay" didn't really matter. Twenty-four votes were need for successful passage of the deal, and that's what happened. But with the players still hesitant to accept this proposal by the players, we're still a long way from the start of training camp and more.

Somewhere Al Davis, clad in an all-leather jumpsuit, is cackling over all of this. At the rate he's going he'll be around for at least two more CBA negotiations.
