Even though the NFL Lockout is still in place, the 2011 American Century Championship did pair NFL players and executives together. Though John Elway and Tim Tebow were not put together, the former did play with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo on Day 1 of the event. Romo spoke highly of Elway.
Here's the video:
Ah, Elway's a good golfer, but Romo is currently second in the tournament behind Jack Wagner. Still, I think Elway would gladly take being a better quarterback than Romo rather than a better golfer.
All jokes aside, think about how it must feel to be playing with the greatest quarterback to ever play the game and the other member of their trio that day, Michael Jordan--the greatest(?) basketball player of all-time. Even for an NFL sort-of star that must be something special.
Can Romo make a final round charge and overcome Jack Wagner's six-point lead on Sunday? We'll know soon enough.
