The No. 1 TCU Horned Frogs handily defeated the No. 4 Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, 10-2, on Friday night to advance to the winners' bracket of the Fort Worth Regional. They will play the No. 3 Dallas Baptist on Saturday night.
TCU started Andrew Mitchell and he threw seven shutout innings and allowed just two hits. Kyle Starratt, Tyler Duffie and Teddy Nowell finished out the game. Duffie allowed both runs in the top of the ninth, one on a single another on a bases-loaded walk.
For the Horned Frogs offense, third baseman Jantzen Witte led the way with a 3-for-4, three RBI night. Joe Weik, Zac Jordan and Brett Johnson each collected two RBI, the latter's on a pinch-hit two-run homer. Five runs came in the first two innings.
TCU played Dallas Baptist twice during the regular season. On March 1, the Patriots picked up a 4-3 victory and then on April 24 they picked up their second win, 9-7.
