The No. 1 seed Florida Gators enter halftime of their Elite Eight contest against the No. 8 seed Butler Bulldogs with a 33-32 lead. Butler's Khyle Marshall made a jumper at the end of the half to bring it to a one-point lead for the Gators. However, Florida had as large as a 10-point lead during the first half.
For the Gators, the scoring has been dominated by Vernon Macklin, who tallied 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting and one free throw. Alex Tyus leads the team with five rebounds. The Gators are shooting 48.0 percent as a team. The Bulldogs are lead by Shelvin Mack and his 14 points. Zach Hahn and Khyle Marshall each have six points off the bench. Matt Howard has just four points, but has pulled down three rebounds and dished the ball out for two assists.
Florida will need Erving Walker to find his scoring touch, having just four points on four free throws. Momentum appears to be on Butler's side, but do the Gators have an answer?
