NCAA Basketball Rankings: Kansas Is New No. 1 In AP Poll; Ohio St., Texas Follow

There's a new No. 1 team in the latest NCAA basketball rankings following the Ohio St. Buckeyes' loss to the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday. The 24-1 Kansas Jayhawks moved to No. 1 in the newest AP Poll. They captured 22 first-place votes. Ohio St. fell only one spot to No. 2, taking 14 first-place votes along the way.

The 22-3 Texas Longhorns remained at No. 3 after defeating the Baylor Bears on Saturday afternoon. They received 23 first-place votes, demonstrating some controversy on which team is No. 1. The Pittsburgh Panthers garnered six-first place votes as the No. 4 team. With no undefeated teams remaining, there's a good chance there will be no unanimous selection for No. 1 overall for the rest of the regular season.

The Duke Blue Devils completed the top five while the San Diego St. Aztecs and the BYU Cougars at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. The Georgetown Hoyas and the Wisconsin Badgers entered the top 10 with the final two spots there. The Villanova Wildcats, previously the ninth-ranked team, dropped down to No. 15 after their losses to Rutgers and Pitt.

The Colorado St. Rams and the UNLV Runnin' Rebels received votes to finish outside of the top 25. The Rams appeared on five ballots and the Rebels on three.
