Northern Iowa Vs. Montana Score: Peter Nguyen Has Grizzlies In 21-10 Lead

Stay connected for news and updates

The Montana Grizzlies are running on all cylinders against the Northern Iowa Panthers in the quarterfinals of the 2011 FCS Playoffs. The Grizzlies hold a 21-10 lead late in the second quarter.

After Jordan Johnson's rushing touchdown for the Grizzlies, the Panthers answered with a 21-yard field goal to cut the game to 14-10. The Grizzlies and the Panthers followed that with punts on the next two drives. With the ball at UNI's 47-yard line, Peter Nguyen appeared to have broken off a run for a touchdown, but he was ruled to have stepped out of bounds at the 10-yard line. The ruling was confirmed upon replay.

However, that didn't slow the Grizzlies down. Johnson made a haphazard throw on the next play that could have been intercepted, but it fell incomplete. Nguyen then answered with a 10-yard touchdown run and the 21-10 lead.
