The Denver Pioneers are looking to push their record to 7-1 with their third consecutive win, and at halftime, Denver leads Iona 43-32 at Magness Arena in Denver. The Pioneers were led by guard Brett Olsen, who scored 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting including 3-for-3 from three-point range. Sophomore forward Chris Udofia added eight points and two rebounds for the Pioneers in the first half.
Lamont Jones was the lone scorer in double-figures for Iona. The junior guard finished with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Teammate Scott Machado finished the half with five points, four rebounds, and three assists.
Denver's biggest advantage thus far comes in three-point shooting: the Pioneers have knocked down 7-of-12 long range attempts, while Iona is just 3-for-9.
