The Denver Pioneers will look to keep their win streak alive vs. the Iona Gaels.
The Denver Pioneers (6-1) are on a two game winning streak at the moment, having won both games by double digits, but to extend that to three they're going to have to defeat the second best opponent on their non-conference schedule. The Iona Gaels are also 6-1 on the season, but that record includes a a 26 point victory over the Maryland Terrapins and a one point loss to the Purdue Boilermakers as the lone blemish.
The Gaels are an unusually starter-heavy team: Five players average over 20 minutes a game, and only two others average over 10. Those aforementioned five players all average in double digits in scoring, led by senior power forward Michael Glover who is averaging 19.9 points per game and 9.1 rebounds per game. The backcourt is led by senior guard Scott Machado, a Queens, New York native who is averaging 15.4 ppg and 11.4 assists per game.
Game time/date: 7:00 p.m. MT, Wednesday, Dec. 7
TV/Radio: ROOT Sports/1510 AM
Spread: Denver is favored by 2.5 points
