The Montana Grizzlies will need to dig deep inside of themselves if they want to overcome this 21-0 deficit at the end of the first quarter. The Sam Houston State Bearkats Bearkats just added another touchdown to the scoreboard.
The Grizzlies wasted another scoring opportunity by turning over the ball in Sam Houston State territory. Quarterback Jordan Johnson hit Bryce Carver for a 39-yard gain on 3rd-and-13, putting the ball on Sam Houston State's 35-yard line. However, Jordan Johnson was five yards behind the line of scrimmage when he fumbled the ball on the next play. The Bearkats recovered it.
Brian Bell and Tim Flanders were once again instrumental in putting the ball in the end zone once again. Bell had a 17 yard run and saw Tim Flanders break out for 19 yards as well. Bell finished the drive out by completing a 20-yard pass to Grant Merritt for the touchdown.
