The Denver Pioneers are off to a promising 6-2 start this season, but are facing all they can handle from Northern Colorado at Butler-Hancock Hall. Northern Colorado took a 31-26 lead into halftime on Wednesday.
The Pioneers opened the the second half on an 11-0 run to storm ahead and grab the lead.
Denver is the team usually known for stellar three-point shooting, but Northern Colorado has been successful shooting the long ball as well thus far. The Bears have hit 5-of-11 three-pointers and are currently 16-of-33 from the field overall. Paul Garnica provided most of the offense for Northern Colorado. At time of print, he has 13 points and four assists. Tate Unruh has chipped in eight points thus far.
