The Montana State Bobcats took a 3-0 lead over the No. 1 Sam Houston Bearcats in this 2011 FCS Playoffs quarterfinals matchup. The teams opened up the game by exchanging punts, but on Sam Houston's second drive quarterback Brian Bell forced a bad throw and wound up with an interception into the hands of Na'a Moeakiola at the 34-yard line.

Working with a short field, quarterback DeNarius McGhee found Elvis Akpla for a 13-yard gain. McGhee found Tanner Bleskin for an eight-yard gain two plays later. The Bobcats needed to take a timeout after that play, but it didn't help the team regroup. A run and two pass attempts resulted in just a net gain of one yard. Jason Cunningham wound up kicking a 27-yard field goal to put the Bobcats in the lead.

Both teams have continued to support a strong rush defense, which could turn this game into which team has the best passing game.
