Avalanche Vs. Canucks Score Update: Vancouver Extends Lead To Two

Stay connected for news and updates

Alex Burrows buried a shot past Semyon Varlamov for his sixth goal of the year to give the Vancouver Canucks a 2-0 lead over the Colorado Avalanche after the second period at the Pepsi Center. Dan Harnhuis set up the goal. It was Harnhuis' ninth assist of the season.

Vancouver continues to generate more quality scoring opportunities than the Avalanche. Colorado is currently being out-shot 22-14. The Avs' faceoff dominance has continued, as they've won 17 draws compared to the Canucks' 12.

Each team was tagged with a two-minute penalty in the period. Daniel Sedin was called for hooking on Milan Hejduk for the Canucks. Colorado got a too many men on the nice penalty.

The star of the game so far might be Canucks goalie Cory Schneider. Schneider has out-played former star Roberto Luongo for much of this season.
