New Jersey Nets Prime Candidate For Carmelo Anthony Trade

The New Jersey Nets appear to have the pole position as trade partners with the Denver Nuggets for Carmelo Anthony.

The sources say Anthony is willing to sign an extension with New Jersey and the Nets are ready to offer No. 3 pick Derrick Favors as well as the expiring contracts of Troy Murphy and Kris Humphries as well as “at least one future first-round pick.”

New Jersey GM Kiki Vandeweghe is very familiar with Carmelo Anthony’s skills, as he drafted him back in 2003 while employed as GM of the Denver Nuggets. Anthony may be more willing to sign an extension with his former employer, thus facilitating a trade.
