With the Rockies currently riding a 10-game winning streak, it's no wonder that a Rockie would be named NL Player of the Week. Troy Renck reports that Troy Tulowitzki was just named the NL Player of the Week:
In seven games last week, Tulowitzki batted .370 (10-27) and led the majors with six home runs, a 1.148 slugging percentage and 31 total bases.
Tulowitzki has belted eight home runs during the Rockies’ 10-game winning streak. [...]
So much for Tulowitzki's hand/wrist injury sapping his power for the rest of the season. It's time for Troy to lead the Rockies from Rocktember into Rocktober and beyond.
The official MLB press release on the honor mentions that fellow Rockies Eric Young Jr. and Huston Street were considered.

Major League Baseball just announced that Troy Tulowitzki was named Player of the Month for September:
Major League Baseball Players of the Month for September are #Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez and #Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki
Tulowitzki hit .303/.366/.754 with 15 homers and 40 RBI over the final month of the season. But that was still not enough to propel the Rockies to the playoffs for a third time in four seasons.

Troy Tulowitzki’s historic month behind the plate has netted him even more accolades. For the second consecutive week, Tulowitzki has been named the NL Player of the Week.
The past seven days, he is hitting .364 with five homeruns and 14 RBI, while leading the Colorado Rockies to within 1.5 games of the NL West division. For the month of September, Tulowitzki is hitting a blistering .351 with 14 homeruns and 34 RBI.
He is the first Colorado player to win the award in two consecutive weeks, and is now the prohibitive favorite for NL Player of the Month.
Fellow Rockies Melvin Mora and Carlos Gonzalez were also candidates for the award.
